It's that time of year again.... when the days get longer, and the mornings darker. Don't forget to *spring forward* your clocks Sunday night. Oh.... and have a great weekend!
wes~ I think they should have stopped it years ago.... it really doesn't serve any useful purpose anyway. I hear the state of Arizona doesn't follow it, why not the rest of us??? How did you get out of it? My calendar says that it's observed by both Canada & US.
I don't know how we got out of it. All of Canada observes it except for the province of Saskatchewan, which is where I live. I think there is also about 3 or 4 states, or parts of states that don't observe it as well. I was in California in the fall and went through my first time change, it was ok, but not that exciting. I like it where I am, never having to change. Although it does get confusing, because everyone else changes, so people I know in different time zones, will be a different time in relation to me now. For example, my Mom lives in California, and right now she is 2 hours difference, but after the time change, it will only be 1 hour. It can make things kind of confusing sometimes. :)
I'm not lookin forward to missing even more sleep n tryin to get up for work... But I'll enjoy all the light on my breaks now!
I remembered it today already, but think it's funny ya have a PSA post also!
Don't forget, if ya work for a big company, ya can get away with being an hour late for work Monday... ! You know some one will do it- just not us type A's!
bar bar a~ Everybody I've spoken to agrees that the time change is just silly and wonders why we bother anymore.
The clock picture was taken from the web. I was surfing looking for a different angle on time. I almost gave up, and went to one more page and found this. It jumped right out at me, and I knew it was the one I was looking for. It is pretty cool, huh?

lee ann~ I had almost forgotten myself, and thought the public could use any and all reminders. I actually forgot to set my clocks forward a few times, and my bosses at the time were not all that pleased. Now I try to make an effort to stay informed. (It's not cool to be an hour late when you are a caterer of a wedding... which did happen once. Silly people for wanting to get married on a time change weekend!)

snaggle~ This morning was a bit hard for me to fully wake up, as I worked till 1 AM. I was too tired to make the change to the clocks last night, and waited till I just got up. I thought before I climbed on the computer, I'd better get the deed done. Now I feel like most of the morning had passed me away.... which in actuality it has. We have a breakfast first thing Monday morning... but luckily I have gotten out of delivering it... which is a good thing, because it always takes me a day or two to get used to this "change". Autumn change is so much easier.
I read your PSA.... and agree. It is important to get your animals taken care of. Most people should also get their animals spayed as well. We have an adoption program at some of the pet stores locally. If you "adopt" one, the animals come "shot-ready". You may have to pay for the animal, but the shots are all free, which is a nice concept.
K.~ Last night was kind of nice to have it get dark at 8:15, rather than the usual 7:15.... but this morning was a little eerie as it was too dark at 6 AM, and didn't start to lighten up till 7 AM.

saur~ I have to confess that I did take a little power nap this afternoon just to get over the hump a bit. I worked saturday night/ sunday morning till 1 AM, and still wasn't able to recover all day sunday. Even though the afternoon has slipped away... I'm not so cranky anymore.
************
scott~ Yup.... the first monday workday after the change is the hardest to get used to. You'd almost think they'd make us change our clocks on friday night/ saturday morning, just to give us two full days to get acclimated to it... or be done with it altogether.
************
skyblue~ And a *top of the afternoon* to you as well! I just barely woke up from the nap I took, and am still a little groggy. This change kicks more butt than the Autumn one, no doubt!
Ellen - It's weird, as soon as I saw the blurb on the news about the clocks changing. I wondered when. Before I knew it they skipped forward. Man where did that weekend go?
It was weird last night doing grocery shopping and looking out the store window to see that it was still light outside at 8 PM.
I think I am finally used to it, but am still having a hard time getting up in the morning. Since I suffer from bouts of insomnia, this change really screws with my internal timeclock.
ej~ I had a friend who lived in Arizona and asked him how they managed that, but he had just moved there and couldn't give me an answer yet. It just seemed so confusing! However, all that said... I am enjoying getting used to the later daylight. Mornings are still hard though!

A good arguement for banning the thing altogether.....
What a cool clock photo! Thanks for the reminder that we will lose an hour! I would be fine banning it just to see what happened.
OH I had forgotten...
Thanks for the reminder! Have a great weekend Ellen!

Its so awesome it's sunny out at seven! Yee ha! :)
Ohhhh boy did Daylight Savings Time hit me with a vengeance this morning, after running around all weekend at the races. I still am groaning.
yes...I lost some sleep! Though I will enjoy longer days.
I hate the first Monday after the time change. It is killing me this morning.
Scott
Good afernoon! :)
