if......
you can start the day without caffeine;
you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains;
you can resist complaining to and boring people with your troubles;
you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time;
you can overlook it when those you love take it out on you when, through no fault of your own, something goes wrong;
you can take criticism and blame without resentment;
you can ignore a friend's limited education and never correct him or her;
you can resist treating a rich friend better than a poor one;
you can face the world without lies and deceit;
you can relax without liquor;
you can honestly say that deep in your heart you have no prejudice;
Then you have almost reached the same level of development as your cat or dog.

Ellen - Tell that to Cody, he's got the life, I think the fuzzy little thing eats more than I do these days! And you don't want to leave your coffee cup anywhere we he can get it, the little thing loves coffee!

Peace & Hugs,

- Neo

That's the most adorable pic!

Even the kitties get so little of my time, they're on my case at every op!
Where I work, I'm the only one who isin't attached to the free coffee pot in the break room.

I'm usually only predjudiced against inconsiderate, selfish folks, never biased based on species, ethnicity, or religion.

My Neighbor's Buddy the Dashhound is addicted to coffee also!

I do get some in my tea n chocolate... I do notice those other workers getting jittery n aggitated alot!

I have no doubt you are at that level, sweetie. You are just too nice not to be.

Hope you are feeling better from the nasty icky cold, and that your week is going smooth for you.

Yeah, cats.... they can be independent little buggers, which can be a little annoying at times. I've had a few, and they were all good kitties, but have had very short lives. Since I am a crybaby at the death of an animal, I told the boys never again.... no pets. That's why I love the neighboring animals. I can pet them, and open my yard to the offerings of many rodents in the ivy for hunting.... and then I can wave goodbye when they are done. We both walk away happy.

Oh... and you're one cool cat, regardless of the dog and caffeine.

Yes, they are, and a great deal of comfort to many people. I watched a report on some morning show (probably GMA) where they use dogs to help train children to read. How it works, is that the children read to the dogs, all the while petting them. Since the dogs can't really understand any mistakes, they don't laugh or embarress the children (as it would happen in regular school settings). It has increased the level and quantity of reading in one school where they tried it out. I think that was pretty amazing.

When I first came across this, I really thought it had some message about religion.... imagine my surprise when the solution was so simple.

Cody drinks coffee???? Wow, that must be one high-strung cat.... Does caffeine work on animals?
Geez, you better keep the catnip away from him, or you'll have one little doper on your hands. LOL!

Not a coffee drinker here either.. although I do like my one cup of flavored decaf on the weekend. I used to be a heavy coffee drinker back in my youth, but gave it up due to doctors suggestion (and some weird lumps). I love my tea, and found out that green tea has the lowest amount of caffeine... so I'm ok with that. And chocolate.... well, I had to give that up due to the special diet I'm on right now to lose a million pounds. It's working good... already down 17 and counting.

Ellen - If you set your cup down and go to do something else, he will creep up and start drinking it. He's quite clever in his skill.

Most of the time, it's decaf so I don't think a few sips will her him. Remind to tell you what he's eaten before someday.

Very Ghandi-esque, oh great one. ;o) Too bad it's too long to go in a fortune cookie.

Miss you! Sorry I've been absent, but my life has become a merry-go-round, whizzing by at top speed, and I am hanging on for dear life.

I still find it so funny that Cody would like coffee. Usually cats are so finicky.... which is kind of odd, as they do eat mice, rats and bugs. Goes to show you that they do have discerning tastes.

As for the absence.... my new post says it all. Between work, and remodeling (and news that hubby lost an uncle just a few days ago), life has been a little hectic... no time for naps even.

skye~
LOL! Yup, I know the gene well. Love my nap time too, whenever I get the opportunity.

I was only too grateful to hear that the storms that came through our area last night (3/1) missed
Birmingham. Americus, Ga and Enterprise, AL got the brunt end of it didn't they?
Hope you weekend is bright and sunny at the castle!

rainbow dreams~
Very good point. I wouldn't be the least surprised if ALL cats had that same trait.

************

saur~
Yes, this would be a great fortune cookie. It also puts matters into perspective, doesn't it?

As far as busy.... I can relate. I only hope your neck is feeling better, and that you are going out to have some fun from time to time.

K.~
This begs me to ask the question:
Do they live in a frat house? I can honestly say I've never heard of an alcoholic dog... but then that would calm down their overwhelming desire to jump on you all the time.
