heat weary..........

Yes, I'm still here spanning the blog world to read in the few available minutes between orders and phone calls. It's nice to have a computer to play with while I wait in those in-between moments. You'd think I might write, or keep updated more since I have the apparatus and time that allows me to..... but to be honest, I haven't been able to finish any posts I've already archived. I find myself spending the quiet afternoons surfing in and out of the web, and next thing you know, it's 5 PM. Some things are written, but I suffer the affliction of not knowing how to end them... so they are archived, to be edited again and again before I find the magic words: The End.

The heat is playing a major role in my apathetic conduct, and that bothers me most of all. I was once very capable of putting Martha Stewart to shame with my organizational and "done today" attitude. I cold wiz things off a list faster than I could actually think them. These days that list is short or nonexistent. It's far too hot to even care most days. Perhaps it's because I really need that long awaited vacation to loosen the grips of procrastination... to get away from work and phones. Yup, that's it...... I need to decompress....... find a way to rejuvenate.

How nice it would be to find myself by the ocean.... sipping tall iced teas, and nose deep into a book. While cool ocean breezes wash sunshine all over me, I listen to the echoes of sea gulls after a good catch. Glimpses across the water for oncoming boats or dolphins would be my only real distraction, while the sun is allowed to set the day.

Well, that's enough vacation for me for one day. Hate to cut it off, but duty still calls, whether I am ready to come back or not. I have been around to read everyone's posts, which is still my favorite distraction of all, but haven't kept up with comments as well as I'd like. I will make a more concerted effort in that area.

Hope you all are having a peachy Tuesday!

Thanks for the mini vacation, that was wonderful. I did see that dolphin leap through the air and splash down into the cool ocean waves. Ahhhh, that was nice.
Ok, me too, time to take the sunglasses off, and put the reading glasses back on and get back to work.

Yes,I feel non-motivated and a little draggy lately. The heat is a killer. Over 100* again today...for almost a week!

Hope your Tuesday is going well.

Ellen - Vacation? Pfffttt!! You and me both!

Tell ya what I'll find superman and have him stop the world for a couple of weeks so the hard working people like us and get out of dodge and remember what it's like to take time out for us.

Hope it cools off soon for you down there. It was actually very nice in Philly today. Mid 80's and very low humidity. I'll take that for the rest of the month.

Peace & Hugs,

- Neo

I'd like to join you at the beach! Come on over, its only a few miles from where I am. BUT - do I ever go there? Rarely.

I like Neo's idea. Let's stop the world for a few weeks and just chill.

I hope the heat goes away soon!

the idea of water is refreshing to me . just hate the sands and the other things associated with it . i prefer to be alone daydreaming in a cold night next to the water !

Quite welcome... and feel free to join me at the beach anytime! It does wonders to spend a few stolen minutes away from the desk without even getting up from the chair, doesn't it?

Still in the killer 100's here too.... I don't care what the Weather Channel says. My car registered 111 degrees the other day. I don't think it ever got that high before.

Stay cool, sweetie!

That's exactly what we need! Stop the world for just a few weeks, let everybody take a vacation, and maybe when we all get back, even the countries who are lobbing bombs against one another will forget why.

I can survive the 80 degree weather ok, it's the upper 90's and 100's that I just melt in. Going from inside (air) to outside (oven), all morning long just sets me up for the worst headaches. Gotta love those siesta/ advil moments!

Being so land-locked with the nearest beach 5 hours away, I can't sneak away to it as much as I used to when I lived in New England. I would love to see a California beach, and might take you up on that offer. Of course I would just drag you away from your daily routine to come along with me to play!

Can't you just see yourself in a nice comfortable lounge chair, wih not a care in the world? And everytime the glass of tea empties, a wonderful cabana boy brings by a new one.
Sorry, I'm delusional today.... must be the heat!

No sand, or gulls? What about the fresh breezes or occasional dolphins frolicking about? Or sand castles begging to be built and adorned by the royal shells?
No "bites" on a trip still?
We will still save a chair for you in case you change your mind.

For me it'e 5 AM again already! (time for the zzz's) I like this blog thing, cause there's no time limit, n can do it in my lonely awake hours while all else is asleep time!

I never fret how to end a post, it always ends itself how it wants too! I'm just logging parts of my life, whether it makes essay sense or not!

You just have perfectionist qualities...

You could always ask readers how they would end it... !

Also, for me getting around to read is the hardest thing to find time for...

From a caterers point of view, all I can say is.... glad somebody else thought of the food this time around, and let me off the hook!
The very thought of cooking in my kitchen is making me sweat already, and I could really use those fresh cool breezes.

Yeah, my OCD tendencies seem to master my decisions in many phases of my life. I really am much better than I used to be, but still suffer bouts in certain areas.... writing being one of them.

I did see you over in the next chair, but you were sleeping peacefully, and I didn't want to wake you from such a much needed rest.

Vacation? What's that? :p

I find that I am really looking forward to blogging now that I am done school. While I was in school, I was writing so much and using my brain, that blogging was a challenge sometimes. But now that my job requires no brain function at all, I look forward to blogging and flexing my brain muscle. :)

Thanks for stopping by! I did go over to your blog to read, and was charmed by your stories.

Isn't it funny how we manage to type the posts we want to make, but end up archiving them till they are JUST right? I'm stuck in that quandry now.... but I'm going to blame it on the heat, take a short power nap, and come back strong.

Hope you are having a wonderful week.... and please feel free to drop by any time!

Pull up a chair honey.... you will be waited on hand and foot because of your delicate condition. Then we will all proceed to give you "motherly" advise as well as tell funny stories about our own children. We are all bound to be laughing in a matter of minutes.

Hope you are well, sweetie!

See.... you are a blogging wonder, and I'm impressed by all of your posts. They are insightful and well thought out, and it looks like it takes no effort for you to bang something out, no matter how busy you are.

By the way, I meant to tell you that I loved the picture of the apartment building/ house that you put up. I've always thought the best houses were the ones with classic architecture like that one.

Other than the privy info to the top secret ingredient behind coke-a-cola.... nope, you didn't utter a word!

thanks ellen, again, you are too kind too me. That apartment was very cool, it was build in 1911, which is really old for this part of the country. All of the apartments and houses I have chosen to live in were all build before 1930. I hate the new stuff, and love the old buildings. :)

I love old buildings myself. They hold so much character compared to a lot of the stuff you see today. I've noticed that Atlanta is now building carriage-style mansions in the old classic look. Goes to show you that class never goes completely away.
