Thanks Well Woman! I thought so too, and thanks to Neos major help, we were able to get them published. I've been trying to send a comment all day, but have been experiencing trouble with some kind of blocker on the word verification... noticed you had the same problem on your blog.
Thanks for stopping by, and feel free to do so anytime!
Wow, are those great but scary pics! Almost looks like a nuke goin off, the cloud banks are so high n clearly defined. If I saw those headin my way, I's go hide underground somewhere... Where were they taken from? Seem I was off line n avoided the block thang
Snaggle- I had these e-mailed to me from my wonderful bookkeeper, but lost them when my puter crashed several weeks ago. I had her re-send them just the other day as I wanted to share them with everybody. I'm pretty sure she downloaded them from somewhere on the net. Yeah, I guess if I saw them I'd almost want to go and hide, but would be too curious to see them through. I've always wanted to go on one of those "storm watcher" trips....be close enough to get some great pics, but far away enough to be protected. Sort of reminds you of the movie "Twister" doesn't it?
Lee Ann- They are almost worthy of being framed, huh? I was awe-struck when I opened the e-mail and there they were.
Everybody: Feel free to download them if you'd like!
The sec ya mentioned "storm-tracker" trip I thought of "Twister," the movie, then ya wrote that, n all I can see is that poor air-born puter-cow hurling around ... I'm still wonderin what state they were done in, just incredible altitude depiction.
I loved that movie! I'll never forget seeing that cow fly across the screen... or the tanker. I'm not sure what state they filmed in, but wouldn't be too suprised if they did it in Iowa or Kansas. I'll have to read the credits next time it's on... actually it was on one of the Turner stations the other night.
I always try to catch the National Geo storm stories, or the ones they show on Weather Channel. Fascinating stuff, and the storms are so incredible. So hard to believe they can do so much damage.
Anonymous- Thank you for correcting me... appearently I've been gullible enough to be dupped by the e-mail. I did go onto the site to look it up and was amazed at how many times this has gone around the world, and said to be pictures of other hurricanes as well.
These pictures were actually taken by Mike Hollingshead, a storm chaser out of Nebraska... tracking foul weather in Kansas and Nebraska.
For more wonderful pictures of these go to: www.extremestability.com /photography2.htm
OK- one more change to that website (because I got that a little wrong too) Go to:
http://extremeinstability.com/ photography2.htm
It will show you pictures of other storms taken by the true author, as well as links to other sites.
Sorry folks.... I will make the necessary changes if I can ever get to blogger to do so. For some strange reason, blogger is a little slow on me today. It's a Monday... go figure!

Wow, those are truly incredible. So beautiful and yet so devastating!
Oh, I had trouble commenting yesterday on blogs that had word verification! Very strange!

Those pictures are from a tornado, not from Katrina. Check this out: http://www.breakthechain.org/exclusives/hurricanepics.html
